Lane Cove Labor have organised for NSW Shadow Minister for Transport Jodi McKay to visit the Lane Cove bus interchange on Thursday morning 24th August.

Local residents have been campaigning for more buses for two years without results. In April, Shadow Minister for Transport, Jodi McKay visited Lane Cove for a public forum to hear concerns from local residents.

Coincidentally, at the same time, the Liberal State Member for Lane Cove, announced two new buses for the morning peak hour.

The subsequent additional services introduced in June are still not meeting demand. 

Lane Cove Labor continues to run an online survey for local residents to report overcrowded buses at www.lanecovelabor.org.au/bus  

According to Andrew Zbik and David Roenfeldt, "the population in Lane Cove has increased 15% since 2011.  Another 1,000 units are being completed in Lane Cove over the next 18 months and there are no plans for more buses.”

Lane Cove Labor strongly believes that allowing the population to significantly increase without first addressing the extra demand that is placed on public transport infrastructure is complete madness.
