Reinstate Community Representation on the Traffic Committee

Traffic effects everyone:

Residents should have a say

Council is responsible for the maintenance and management of local roads. However, many proposed changes to local traffic conditions need to be approved by Transport for NSW and/or the Roads and Maritime Service.

In 2017, Council decided to remove the representation of a Councillor on this committee.

Lane Cove Labor believe there are local traffic matters that are more that technical in nature and that some traffic matters involve residents safety and convenience interests.

We will:

1) Introduce the ability for local residents to attend and speak about their traffic-related issues and concerns at the Lane Cove Traffic Committee (As can be done with Willoughby Council).

2) Re-instate the representation of a Councillor to the Traffic Committee to better advocate for the needs of our residents.
