Survey Launched to Record Overcrowded Buses

The Lane Cove Branch of NSW Labor will be holding a community forum with Shadow Minister for Transport Jodi McKay to discuss bus services in the area.

A number of local residents have voiced concerns that there is a lack of buses in Lane Cove, with overcrowding now so bad buses are regularly unable to pick passages up along local routes.

Residents are invited to register overcrowded buses at www.lanecovelabor.org.au/bus so figures can be presented to the NSW Parliament.

"The Government needs to do more to ensure that this area, experiencing rapid population growth, is serviced by adequate buses." stated Andrew Zbik, President of Lane Cove Labor.

"Local commuters are fed up with being ignored by the NSW Liberal Government. It’s time Anthony Roberts listened to the views of locals and advocate for more buses for our local area."

NSW Shadow Minister for Transport Jodi McKay will visit Lane Cove for a community forum to discuss the issue of overcrowded buses and broader issues with transport planning in the Lower North Shore.

Details of the community forum are:

  • Thursday 27th April, 7pm to 9pm
  • Venue: Lane Cove Community Hub – The Terrace Room, 3 Little Street, Lane Cove (Above the Lane Cove Council Little Street Public Car Park)
  • RSVP: www.lanecovelabor.org.au or email [email protected]
